Carbon intensity
The Energy White Paper, Powering our Net Zero Future (CP 337), published in December 2020 by HM Government, defines carbon intensity as: ‘The amount of CO2 emitted when generating a unit of electricity, measured in gram of CO2 per kWh of electricity produced.’
Emissions Gap Report 2019 published by the UN Environment Programme defines carbon intensity as: ‘The amount of emissions of CO2 released per unit of another variable such as gross domestic product, output energy use, transport or agricultural/forestry products.’
